2. The dodgy prophets cried to Baal
to come and pass the test
But no-one heard and no-one came
to answer their request

‘or has no time for you
Perhaps he’s on his holidays

For nothing came down from above
No sign that Baal was there
For Baal is not the living God
And cannot hear your prayer

3. At last it was Elijah’s turn
to call upon the LORD
But first he soaked the sacrifice
to make it extra hard
Then God sent fire from the sky
which even burnt the stones
The people cried, ‘The LORD is God
and he is God alone’

For fire came down from above
A sign which did reveal
The living God, the God of love
The God who’s really real’
